Air France resumes flights to Israel

It is not yet clear when KLM will follow the example of the French: this site has asked the Dutch airline for more information, but is still waiting for a response.

This week, the Lufthansa Group resumed flight operations to Israel, and several other airlines will follow in the coming weeks, including LOT Polish Airlines, Vueling and Transavia France. They consider it safe enough to start their scheduled services again.

It has now been three months since most foreign airlines stopped flying to Israel due to concerns about flight safety after the outbreak of violence. Only a handful of airlines, including Etihad Airways, Ethiopian and FlyDubai, remained active.

As a result, travelers became almost completely dependent on Israeli companies to get into or out of Israel. Only El Al currently flies between Schiphol and Tel Aviv.
