Windows 10 22H2 version may still get new features

Windows 10 Version Update 22H2

Windows 10 users can expect the latest version update that brings new features later this year, version 22H2. Microsoft hasn’t released anything yet about which features it will roll out.

After Windows 10 was succeeded last year, the thought was that Windows would stop version updates and focus on Windows 11. Although that thought has largely come true and Microsoft did not release a 22H1 update for Windows 10, there is a follow-up. 22H2 version. It recently rolled out the first preview version to Insider groups. At the time of the unveiling, even in Microsoft’s announcement, it was eerily silent about the innovations that had been made. The question was therefore whether the Windows 10 version would introduce new features.

“Selection of new functions”

A update of the blog post confirms this time that the 22H2 version does contain new features. “Version 22H2 has a range of new features and Microsoft will share more details about this update later this year,” the software giant writes in its blog post. What functions we will encounter remains unclear for the time being. It is also unknown when Microsoft plans to release the H2 update for Windows 10.

Given Microsoft’s update strategy from previous years, there is a good chance that Microsoft will not release this update until October or November. Until then, a few things will probably leak out – after all, the preview version of the 22H2 update is already freely available. Users can currently download the update from the Windows 10 update menu. To do this, you must first select the settings in order to receive Insider updates.

It is striking that Microsoft is still releasing new features for Windows 10. While the OS will receive updates until 2025, it was expected to be security updates only. The historically low adoption of Windows 11 may have to do with Microsoft’s choice.

Focus is on Windows 11

For now, the focus is on Windows 11. At the same time, according to rumors, that will not last long. Earlier it was leaked that Microsoft intends to in 2024 al met Windows 12 to come up with. The software giant then wants to release a new Windows version every three years. It is not known why this strategy was chosen.
