Former President Donald Trump on Thursday attacked New York Attorney General Letitia James amid an ongoing fraud trial in New York where he is accused of defrauding banks and insurers by inflating the values of his properties.

Trump posted clips on his social media platform from a 2018 video in which James calls him an “illegitimate president” and promises to sue him if elected.

“America is in uncharted territory. We are angrier and more divided than we have ever been at any point in our history since the Civil War,” James said in the video. “At the eye of the storm is Donald Trump, ripping families apart, threatening women’s most basic rights. I’m running for attorney general because I will never be afraid to challenge this illegitimate president.”

Trump also shared other campaign clips of James’ in which she says she’ll sue him if elected.

Trump has denounced his legal trials in New York, Georgia, Florida and Washington D.C. as a “witch hunt” designed to interfere with the 2024 election.

Trump is the frontrunner for the GOP nomination.

The New York bench trial, which will be decided by the judge, alleges conspiracy, insurance fraud and falsifying business records.

James is seeking $250 million in penalties and wants to ban Trump from doing business in New York.
