‘This is the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 (Pro)’

Samsung Unpacked is just around the corner, and that traditionally means that the rumors are starting to fly around your ears. Samsung is expected to release the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 on August 10, among others. In addition, the South Korean tech giant is also said to be working on two smartwatches in the Galaxy Watch line, the Galaxy Watch 5 and Watch 5 Pro. We no longer have to doubt the design of the two smartwatches now that Evan Blass has confirmed the design (via 91Mobiles).

Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 (Pro)

In the image of rumor spreader Blass, we see the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro on the left. This model will come in black and titanium and will also reportedly be available only as a 45mm model. Consumers looking for a smaller Wear OS watch from Samsung will therefore automatically have to opt for the Galaxy Watch 5, which appears in 44mm and 40mm. This watch also gets more color options, with the choice of Gold, Bora Purple and Graphite.

It can already be deduced from the renders of the upcoming Galaxy Watch 5 watches that the 5 and 5 Pro models will not differ much from each other. The Watch 5 Pro does get a characteristic border of the color of the frame around the screen. We have to miss a rotating bezel, as was still present on the Watch 4 Classic, of the Pro watch that should serve as the Watch 4 Classic successor. The regular Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 model also has to do without a physical rotating ring. Whether there will be a touch bezel on both watches, as before, is unknown.

Higher price Galaxy Watch 5 series

It was previously known for the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 and Watch 5 Pro that the introductory price will be a ‘step higher’ than with the Watch 4 series. The Galaxy Watch 5 is said to have to pay 299 euros later. The Watch 5 Pro will soon cost 490 euros. Furthermore, Samsung’s watches will soon come with 10 watts of fast charging and they will be delivered with the new Wear OS 3.5, in combination with One UI Watch 4.5.

It is not yet known when the smartwatches will be for sale in Belgium and which colors we will see again. Previously, there were rumors about a possible sales start on August 26 – whether that date also applies to the Watch 5 and Watch 5 Pro is not known.
