Samsung also brings Galaxy AI functions to devices from 2023 – Tablets and phones – News


Samsung is releasing a software update that will mean that some of the brand’s smartphones from 2023 will also have Galaxy AI functions. The update will be rolled out at the end of March and will be available for Galaxy S23, Z Fold 5, Z Flip 5 smartphones and Galaxy Tab S9 tablets.

The Galaxy AI features will according to Samsung are included in One Ui 6.1. This includes Browsing Assist, Note Assist, Transcript Assist and some AI applications in the field of image editing. The South Korean manufacturer wants to install Galaxy AI on more than 100 million Galaxy devices by 2024. Some AI functions will reportedly only work on Galaxy S24 devices, although it is not yet clear which specific AI functions will be involved.

Samsung has introduced Galaxy AI in early 2024. The company then launched new Galaxy S24 smartphones. The South Korean company would allow users after 2025 want to pay for Galaxy AI features. Early this year became known that Samsung has no plans to bring Galaxy AI to S22 phones, despite suspicions that the mobile SoCs of these smartphones could handle it.
