Pentagon is struggling to explain more than 170 fresh UFO reports, new document reveals



The U.S. authorities has been inundated with a whole lot of UFO encounter stories previously yr, and about half of them stay inexplicable, in line with an unclassified doc launched by the Pentagon (opens in new tab) Thursday (Jan. 12).

The 11-page report, filed by the Workplace of the Director of Nationwide Intelligence (ODNI), reveals that the Pentagon has cataloged a complete of 510 stories of alleged sightings of unidentified flying objects (UFOs) — or unidentified aerial phenomena (UAPs), as the federal government prefers to name them — largely filed by U.S. army personnel. Of those instances, 366 have been newly recognized in 2022, whereas the remaining 144 have been recognized in a previous ODNI report that checked out UFO knowledge compiled between 2004 and 2017.
