Padres place RHP Yu Darvish (elbow) on 15-day IL
The San Diego Padres positioned right-hander Yu Darvish on the 15-day injured checklist Monday on account of irritation in his pitching elbow.
The transfer is retroactive to Saturday.
Darvish had not too long ago pitched via discomfort, based on supervisor Bob Melvin. He was eliminated after 76 pitches throughout Friday’s 7-3 to the Milwaukee Brewers and his arm did not bounce again within the days following the beginning.

San Diego recalled rookie right-hander Matt Waldron from Triple-A El Paso to fill the roster opening. Waldron, 26, is 0-2 with a 6.52 ERA in two begins for the Padres this season.
