The device is the second flagship of the Chinese smartphone manufacturer in 2022 from the smartphone known that unfortunately he has to miss a unique hardware detail of many OnePlus phones: the alert slider. OnePlus also dropped the Hasselblad branding. It says it does this to keep the price of the device down. On the verge of launch, the OPPO subsidiary announces this time that the smartphone will have a battery of 4,800 mAh, while it can charge with up to 150 watts.
150 watts fast charging on OnePlus 10T
Rumors have already let through that the 10T supports fast charging up to 150 watts. This time, OnePlus has confirmed that in a video on Twitter. With this, OnePlus switches from the 80-watt charger on the 10 Pro to a 150-watt SuperVOOC charger on the 10T. The battery can be fully charged within 19 minutes, the smartphone manufacturer states. According to OnePlus, this is possible without damaging the battery; many users see this as a possible danger with the devices with fast charging technologies on board.
OPPO’s subsidiary says that, despite the fast charging technology, the battery should last up to 1600 charge cycles without having to replace the battery. To do this, it uses the BHE (Battery Health Engine) technique, which must be able to repair electrodes to prevent aging. The manufacturer has thus managed to even double the battery life. The industry standard – which applies to Li-Ion batteries – is that batteries last up to 800 charge cycles.
This charging and battery technology is not new for OPPO. Realme, also a subsidiary of OPPO, launched the GT Neo 3 earlier this year with a 150-watt charger. The company is also working on the 240-watt SuperVOOC charging technology. When we will see that technology on smartphones is unknown.
Up to 16 GB RAM
OnePlus, meanwhile, also announced that the OnePlus 10T has up to 16 GB RAM. This concerns LPDDR5 working memory. The base model of the 10T comes with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. The model with 16 GB of RAM contains 256 GB of storage. The company has not disclosed the price for the specific configurations.
