Microsoft integrates Copilot into Teams for Intelligent Recap

Microsoft Teams is starting to roll out its Intelligent Recap feature for Copilot users. The feature was announced and rolled out to Teams Premium customers in early 2023.

Clever summaries was just one of the AI functions which Microsoft was then able to roll out to Teams Premium users. The software giant simultaneously introduced ‘chapters’ for PowerPoint Live meetings. These AI-generated chapters make it easier for users to determine which parts of a meeting they should review. The Intelligent Recap feature will now also be available to users with Copilot for Microsoft 365, soon it sounds in an announcement.

According to Microsoft, the rollout will start in January for Teams on Windows and macOS. It is not known whether the option will also be available later on Android or iOS.

Intelligent Recap op Teams

Intelligent Recap for Teams, as the name suggests, provides smart summaries for the videoconferencing service. These summaries are always based on your personal situation; so it shows when you entered or left the meeting. Teams also marks moments when your name was mentioned and people shared their screen.

Teams also shows the topics discussed during the meeting and lets you search for speakers. This way you can get to the heart of a meeting more quickly. Ideally, the service can also make notes of the meeting, containing important announcements and decisions. AI should therefore ensure that users can fully focus on the meeting again and are not always busy with notes.
