Letters to the Editor: For Gov. Greg Abbott of Texas, the cruelty is the point

To the editor: The Division of Justice filed a lawsuit over the unlawful buoys and razor-wire fencing in Texas on the Rio Grande? A lawsuit? Actually? This shouldn’t be dealt with by litigation from DOJ, however by Customs and Border Safety, Homeland Safety or the navy.

Biden ought to act boldly. The Structure (Article I, Part 8, Clauses 4 and 15) clearly confers sole energy over immigration, border management and to repel invasions — as conservatives describe undocumented entries — to the federal authorities. The state of Texas has no jurisdiction in such issues until invited by the federal authorities, which has not occurred.

Biden ought to simply ship in Border Patrol or the navy and take away the unlawful boundaries. Simply do it! They’ve the authority. If Gov. Greg Abbott can concoct some form of weird constitutional justification for his unlawful scheme, let him be the one to file lawsuits after the unlawful and inhumane security hazards are eliminated.

To the editor: I discover it incongruent to be taught Catholic conservative Gov. Greg Abbott is doing Devil’s work alongside the Rio Grande River. When ordered by the Justice Division to cease the carnage his buoy boundaries wrought, he responds coldly, uncaringly and arrogantly, “Texas will see you in courtroom, Mr. President!”

Gov. Abbott, how would Pope Francis reply to you drowning and endangering the lives of hundreds of determined, helpless immigrants?

Apparently, Abbott believes scoring political factors with life-endangering, despicable, sickening stunts that create extra distress is extra essential than saving lives, serving to the helpless, and caring for the determined and downtrodden amongst us.

Is cruelty, inhumanity, meanness, intolerance, bigotry, prejudice and racism, now the Texas state motto? Does Abbott symbolize what’s finest about Texas?

Gov. Abbott, you proceed to criticize, blame, and disgrace President Biden within the press and frequently keep away from any collaboration required to search out humane options to the border crises.

I implore Democrats in Texas: Save your state. Restore tolerance, acceptance, dignity, integrity and compassion. Manage to vote in overwhelming numbers and cease your governor.

To the editor: It’s wanting an increasing number of like Los Angeles ought to have its personal Statue of Liberty with the phrases “Give me your drained, your poor, your huddled lots craving to breathe free” engraved on it. Whereas Texas Gov. Greg Abbott continues to cruelly and mindlessly bus immigrants to Los Angeles in an effort to enchantment to his anti-immigrant Republican base, the town of Los Angeles continues to graciously settle for and welcome immigrant households within the spirit of true American patriotism. They’re prone to be significantly better handled and happier right here in Los Angeles than in anti-immigrant, Republican-controlled Texas anyway.
