Laura Ann Carleton’s killing puts all LGBTQ+ allies on alert


To the editor: The killing of Laura Ann Carleton over her resolution to fly the LGBTQ+ satisfaction flag exterior her retailer was not “mindless.” It had a really particular message from the illiberal proper for People: “Don’t get up for or defend the folks we hate. Don’t intrude as we minimize them out of the herd, as we condemn their existence, and as we affirm our proper to take a seat on the prime of the American caste system.”

Carleton’s killing is a reminder to us all that the merciless and irresponsible habits by what was the Republican Occasion has penalties that aren’t restricted to the LGBTQ+ group, the immigrant group, the Black group or some other group they search to bully into submission (or nonexistence).

To the editor: I went into Carleton’s retailer in Cedar Glen close to Lake Arrowhead for the primary time final month. I informed the lady ringing up my newly acquired squirrel salt and pepper shakers that I loved the “vibe of the shop.”
