Joe Biden is in trouble, and global chaos can’t hide that

President Biden’s lucky in a perverse way: The chaos his policies cause abroad helps take the heat off him and his family at home.

His coddling of Iran set up Hamas’ horrific assault on Israel; the resulting war has pushed out of the headlines major news on son Hunter’s influence-peddling operation, including the first hard evidence of how it put cash in Joe’s pocket.

But Rep. Jim Comer, who helms the ongoing impeachment inquiry against the president, is still on the job.

“This is going to be a big week,” the Kentucky Republican said over the weekend.

He hinted that yet more ugly financial revelations about the Biden family mafia will be forthcoming — alongside more subpoenas.

This is beyond necessary, especially given the most recent document reveal from Comer’s House Oversight Committee.

Turns out brother James paid Joe Biden $40,000 in money that originated with Chinese energy company CEFC before following a twisty path through a series of Biden family-owned entities.

The check disproves the repeated claim on the left that Biden himself never directly benefited from Hunter’s shady dealing.

And that’s true even if it was a genuine James-to-Joe loan repayment, as Biden’s flacks and media lapdogs insist. (The prez refuses to provide proof.)

James had the money to repay the “loan” because he and Hunter cashed in big on the family name.

And this comes on top of all the other copious documentation the committee’s revealed, proving again and again that the president lied at every step about the extent of his financial involvement with Hunter.

New House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) has yet to formally back a Biden impeachment.

But his election means that the House GOP can take that action if necessary.

How much damage, we wonder, does the fact that Biden is visibly, indelibly caught up in his son’s corruption do to his credibility at this crucial moment? (True, he didn’t have much left.)

But expect Democrats and the media establishment to go from a “no smoking gun” defense to: “How dare they attack the president over years-old events when he’s now facing not one but two open wars?”

Probably with a subtext of “Do they really want Kamala Harris taking over now?”

Fact is, though, what it really adds up to is yet more reason for him to drop out of the 2024 race while his party still has time to choose a new standard-bearer.

After all, the party is already turning on him.
