Good luck finding a good guy in the Disney-Spectrum fight

To the editor: The blackout of channels owned by Walt Disney Co. on Constitution Communications’ Spectrum cable service is absolutely about two multibillion-dollar firms haggling over cash. And we lose.

Spectrum says that Disney desires to “restrict our potential to supply higher buyer alternative in programming packages, forcing you to take and pay for channels you might not need.”

Oh actually? Selection? This can be a firm that forces subscribers to pay for channels we are not looking for. There is no such thing as a alternative besides to give up cable.

To the editor: Constitution Chief Government Christopher Winfrey is true. Disney Chief Government Bob Iger has pulled his firm’s greatest packages from the Disney Channel and moved them to streaming on Disney+. This gives two income streams, which could be very intelligent.

Besides the subscriber will get ripped off.

Additionally, I’m most positively not “out of luck” if I need the packages on Disney-owned ABC. I’ve an ATSC tuner with timed recording functionality, so I received’t miss a factor.

I’ve at all times resented paying for programming anybody can get without cost with an inexpensive antenna, and I received’t miss the opposite channels.

To the editor: I’m certain the cable enterprise could be very sophisticated, requires a Wharton MBA to grasp, and shimmers with high-tech nuance.

However to me as a shopper, Disney and Spectrum appear to be two fats feudal lords sitting at a banquet desk within the fort, belching as they carve up the bounty offered for them by their anonymous serfs. There’s by no means sufficient for them, and it’s at all times as a result of these rattling serfs are so lazy.

Let’s hope they work it out earlier than soccer season is over.

To the editor: In pulling its choices off Spectrum cable in a dispute over prices, Disney has carried out the almost not possible — it has engendered sympathy for Spectrum, an organization with a few of the worst customer support attitudes round.

Good job, Mr. Iger!
