Brickbat: Getting Slammed


Yuba Metropolis, California, officers have agreed to pay near $20 million to settle a lawsuit by a person left paralyzed after being slammed to the bottom by police after a site visitors cease. Based on his lawyer, Gregory Gross can’t stroll or use his arms and now requires 24-hour-a-day nursing care. Police had stopped Gross for suspicion of drunk driving and inflicting a slow-speed collision during which nobody was injured. Police bodycam video confirmed Gross, already in handcuffs, crying out in ache as an officer twisted his arms. It later confirmed officers slam him to the bottom and maintain him facedown on the bottom. And it confirmed officers mocked him as he referred to as out that he couldn’t breathe and couldn’t really feel his legs.
