Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are rolling out to more Hyundais and Kias

The Navigation Map and Software Update that Hyundai announced in October now brings wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto to more European cars.

Hyundai and Kia are releasing a firmware update that makes Android Auto and Apple CarPlay available for more cars, reports say 9to5Mac. That is welcome, because there was actually no logic in which Hyundais and Kias could use the function and which could not. The brand then announced a major update on its website and sister company Kia did the same. It is striking that the new firmware is aimed at European owners.

Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are popular

The two manufacturers want to bring many cars up to date, as being able to connect apps from iPhones and Android phones is a popular feature. There was little logic in the support of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, because some cars with basic equipment provided it, while more expensive models (with integrated navigation) did not support it.

In the United States and Canada, Hyundai and Kia drivers remain hungry for a while. There is also no release date for the firmware update in those regions yet. Do you own a Hyundai or Kia? You can find out online how to activate Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. Both Hyundai as Come on published a list of supported cars.
