Amitabh Bachchan is a big fan of Waheeda Rehman, calls her kind-hearted and simple

On a recent episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati, Amitabh Bachchan expressed his admiration for veteran actress Waheeda Rehman and even referred to himself as her biggest fan. This happened during a discussion with contestants from Kalyan, Maharashtra, who were asked to identify the recipient of the 2023 Dadasaheb Phalke Award for her roles in films like Pyaasa and Guide, to which the correct answer was Waheeda Rehman. Amitabh Bachchan then spoke fondly of her.

During the show, Amitabh Bachchan mentioned that Waheeda Rehman received the prestigious award on Dev Anand’s 100th birth anniversary. He then lauded the veteran actress, referring to her as an “incredible actor.” Amitabh expressed his deep admiration, stating, “Meri favourite hain woh, main unka fan hoon bahut bada. Unke saath kaam karne ka saubhagya humein mila. She is kindhearted, very simple and she never makes anyone feel she’s such a huge star.” Big B also remarked that the Dadasaheb Phalke honour had been overdue for her.

Amitabh Bachchan and Waheeda Rehman, who have portrayed various on-screen relationships, including husband and wife in Kabhi Kabhie and mother and son in Trishul, had previously appeared together in the 1971 film Reshma aur Shera.
