TransIP increases prices of domain names, web hosting and more due to inflation – IT Pro – News

TransIP increases the prices of its services. These price increases take effect immediately for new orders and apply to existing customers from December 15. Improvements are also being made to certain services, such as extra storage or new features.

TransIP reports in an email to customers that it is increasing prices due to inflation and because ‘other suppliers have also adjusted their prices this year’. The web host mentions the CBS price index, which amounts to an average inflation of five percent in 2023. The hosting party shares details about the increases in the various services on his website.

The price increases apply to domains, SSL certificates, web hosting packages, email services, VPS services and add-ons, Public Cloud subscriptions and one of the Stack cloud storage subscriptions. For example, the registration costs of a .nl domain will increase from 9.99 to 11.99 euros per year. That is an increase of twenty percent. The prices of a .com domain also increase by about twenty percent, to 20.99 euros.

TransIP is also increasing the prices of many web hosting, VPS and email services. In those cases, certain packages will receive additional features in addition to a price increase. For example, many BladeVPS packages get higher bandwidth and some of them also get extra storage, extra memory or extra CPU cores. Various web hosting packages get extra storage, extra memory or longer backup retention. Some email packages will also receive more storage. The same applies to the current 250GB subscription of cloud storage service Stack. The price will be increased from 3.50 to 4.99 euros, but the storage will also be doubled to 500GB.

Last November, TransIP also increased its prices. The company then cited high inflation and increased electricity costs as the main reason. In March last year, the company already increased the prices of its VPS services and domain names, also due to the price increases of hardware and energy.

Some rate increases for TransIP services. A complete overview can be found on the TransIP website.
