Three weeks of adjusted timetable at Schiphol station due to work

At times there are no trains and travelers should take longer travel times into account. On the night of Sunday, November 12 to Monday, November 13, no trains will run between Leiden Central Station and Schiphol between 1:30 AM and 5:30 AM. NS will then use express buses. There will be no Intercity direct between Rotterdam Central Station and Amsterdam Central Station on Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 November. On Sunday, December 3, there will also be no trains, but buses between Leiden Central Station and the airport.

ProRail is working on the platforms during the three weeks in question. For example, the track is raised slightly, creating a level entry between train and platform. “This makes the train more accessible for people who have difficulty walking,” says NS. Parts of the overhead lines are also being replaced and work is being done on the access points between the platforms and Schiphol Plaza.

At the beginning of October, fewer trains were running to and from Schiphol due to work on the railway tunnels. The work on the airport train station is expected to last until 2028, which means there will be regular periods of less train traffic.
