The Samsung Galaxy S24 series will be unveiled on January 17, 2024, rumor maker Max Jambor confirms via X.
It was some time ago January 18 still mentioned as a possible date for Samsung Unpacked. Ice Universe, however, was careful in its message on Weibo – the date could still shift. That turns out to be the case. The usually well informed Max Jambor responds affirmatively to a message from Abhishek Yadav tipping Wednesday, January 17 as the Unpacked date.
It is certain that the introduction of the Samsung Galaxy S24 series will take place slightly earlier than that of the Galaxy S23. That device series was only introduced at the beginning of February. By then, the Galaxy S24, S24+ and Galaxy S24 Ultra should already be on store shelves.
Galaxy S24 series specifications
Jambor did not provide further details about the flagships. In the meantime, some things are already known about this. For example, all Galaxy S24 models will receive one LTPO panel with variable refresh between 1 and 120 Hz. In Europe, the Galaxy S24 and S24+ are powered by the Exynos 2400; the Ultra model, on the other hand, would be delivered worldwide with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. As is often the case with Exynos chipsets, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon counterpart is probably more efficient and also slightly smoother.
This time, Samsung also opts for flat screens on all Galaxy S24 models. The slightly rounded panel of the Galaxy S23 Ultra and its predecessors will therefore not return. It would also be a completely new AMOLED screen, with a peak brightness of 2,500 nits.
Samsung, like Apple, may use titanium for the frames of its flagships. Rumors are circulating that this applies to all models. However, this rumor was recently toned down again with the conclusion that only the S24 Ultra uses this stronger frame type. Finally, OnLeaks has already managed to leak renders of all Samsung Galaxy S24 models in recent months. This immediately shows that the design is largely unchanged compared to the S23 series.
