President Biden’s trip to Israel was an unnecessary distraction

What is the point of our 80-year-old president inserting himself physically into the Middle East cauldron?

Other than for campaign photos, and cheap praise from New York Times psy-op columnists (“President Biden’s Finest Hour”), it’s a security nightmare and a needless distraction at a critical time for Israel’s president Benjamin Netanyahu, whom Biden has done his best to undermine and deride as a Trumpist since his election last year.

Biden inherited the Abraham Accords and through pettiness and malice unwound all the good that Donald Trump had achieved in terms of Middle East peace while cozying up to Iran, the region’s main sponsor of terrorism.

It’s all very well for the president to express support for Israel now, but he needs to explain what the hell his administration has been doing harboring at least three anti-Israel Hamas sympathizers with security clearances who allegedly have been acting as agents of influence for Iran.
