Pippa trailer: Ishaan Khatter turns into Captain Balram Mehta and fights in the Battle of Garibpur

On the occasion of Ishaan Khatter’s 28th birthday, the makers of Pippa have finally unveiled the trailer of the film.

Starring Ishaan Khatter as Captain Balram Mehta, the film is based on the Indo-Pakistan war of 1971 where India assisted Bangladesh in its conflict against Pakistan.

The trailer centres around Captain Balram Mehta, who is a member of the 45 Cavalry Tank Squadron. It also introduces the audience to a war tank called the PT-76 (Palavushi Tanka), which was affectionately known as Pippa. This tank was likened to an empty tin of ghee that effortlessly glides on water.

The trailer highlights former PM Indira Gandhi’s declaration of war against Pakistan in 1971, with a specific focus on the Battle of Garibpur fought on India’s eastern front. Captain Balram Singh Mehta assumes leadership of the squadron following the loss of their commander in action. With their resounding war cry of “We fight like soldiers, kill like soldiers, and die like soldiers,” the Indian forces gave their all, ultimately leading to the liberation of Bangladesh.
