Van Oord succeeds Ruud Sondag. Sondag took over as interim CEO on November 1, 2022, after former CEO Dick Benschap threw in the towel following major problems with passenger handling.
Sondag will remain in place until March 1, 2024. After that he is no longer available due to other obligations previously entered into. CFO Robert Carsouw will be interim CEO from March 1 to June 1.
Van Oord has led Royal Van Oord since 2008. He is also a member of the Supervisory Board of De Hoge Veluwe National Park and President of the Feijenoord Stadium.
Van Oord will be chairman of the Executive Team (ET) of Schiphol Group as of June 1, 2024. The ET also consists of Robert Carsouw (Chief Financial Officer), Patricia Vitalis (Executive Director Airport Operations & Aviation Partnerships), Sybren Hahn (Executive Director Assets and Projects), Arthur Reijnhart (Executive Director Commercial) and Esmé Valk (Executive Director Human Resources ). Van Oord will form the statutory management together with Robert Carsouw in 2024.
