Opinion: Trump guilty and we’re debating if he’ll be president. Only in America

To the editor: Right here we go once more. A jury in New York (his hometown) concluded that Donald Trump sexually abused and defamed E. Jean Carroll and awarded her $5 million in damages. This authorized conclusion would usually wipe out any probability a candidate would have in securing a presidential nomination. Not so when that candidate is the disgraced, twice-impeached, indicted ex-president.

Not a phrase of actual condemnation has come from any of his craven opponents within the race. The political pundit class — conservative (on Fox Information), liberal (on MSNBC) and in any other case — opined that the adversarial choice would have little or no impact on the MAGA wing of the Republican Celebration. Solely in America!

To the editor: Solely Trump would defend himself towards allegations of rape by saying that the sufferer was “not my kind.” He couldn’t say he doesn’t assault girls, as a result of he’s recorded as saying he does no matter he needs to girls with out their consent. And in his deposition, he goes additional to say that for stars, like him, it has been true for one million years that they will do that, “sadly or happily.”

The narcissism on show when he mentioned that Carroll is “not my kind” is simply astounding. After all, it’s irrelevant to him whether or not he’s anybody’s “kind.” I’m simply amazed that he’s the Republican Celebration’s “kind.”

To the editor: Why waste so many column inches speculating whether or not Trump being declared a sexual abuser by a jury will price him any Republican votes? After all not. He might even work out a method to put on this indictment as a badge of honor. It’ll definitely be a fundraising bonanza for him.

For a person who not often tells the reality, he has by no means uttered more true phrases than these: “I might stand in the midst of fifth Avenue and shoot anyone, and I wouldn’t lose any voters, OK?”

To the editor: Trump has been discovered responsible of sexually abusing E. Jean Carroll. His sole protection appears to be “I nonetheless don’t know this girl!” However Trump was not accused of getting a relationship with Carroll, one thing that suggests intimate information. Trump was discovered responsible of sexual abuse. Having any information (intimate or in any other case) of the sufferer is solely irrelevant.
