Lost Maya city discovered deep in the jungles of Mexico



Archaeologists in Mexico have found the stays of a misplaced Maya metropolis hidden deep throughout the jungles of the Yucatán Peninsula.

The positioning, situated within the Balamkú ecological reserve within the Mexican state of Campeche, comprises a number of giant pyramids that have been constructed through the Basic interval of the Maya civilization (between A.D. 250 and 1000). The archaeologists named the situation Ocomtún, that means “stone column” in Yucatec Maya, in a nod to the numerous columns dotting the location, which covers roughly 124 acres (50 hectares), based on a translated assertion.
