In “How California can resolve its transmission strains bottleneck” (Web page A8, Aug. 6), Nora Mead Brownell describes the inadequacy of our transmission strains to ship the tripling of grid capability we require by 2050. Ms. Brownell fails to say a far superior answer, which is to co-locate electrical energy technology with consumption.
A 2016 article posited that rooftop photo voltaic, if maximized throughout California, might generate over 74% of our whole wants.
