Fremont fritters
away invaluable college

Since 1988 New Horizons College has offered a superb schooling to Fremont kids. It provides small class sizes, individualized consideration, a caring surroundings and high-level tutorial instruction. It’s open from 6:30 a.m. to six:30 p.m.

In 2019, the college wanted to maneuver to a brand new location it discovered. It invested tens of 1000’s of {dollars} to satisfy the town of Fremont’s calls for for approval. In December 2020, the town’s Planning Fee authorized its plans.

However that was not the tip of it. Fremont strung the college alongside. The college would submit plans, the town would wait till the 90 days for it to reply virtually handed — and impose new calls for, typically petty ones. Prices mounted; the youngsters suffered.

Then the college discovered a beautiful new constructing in Newark — and opened there on Jan. 10, 2022.

Fremont misplaced New Horizon College. Our native authorities failed working mother and father.

Thanks Mr. Plante for sharing your Scouting journey. You might be right. The world wants extra Eagle Scouts.

Since 1911, greater than 2.5 million scouts have been awarded Eagle Scout. Many people have gone on to be nice humanitarians who reside to serve humanity in myriad methods.

Scouting has developed into the mannequin for youth safety, variety and inclusion — setting the ethical compass of our subsequent era of heroes. Troop 234, Moraga pioneered scout’s inclusion insurance policies. In reality, President Biden refers to those as “guiding ideas.”

Packs and troops throughout America have actually led the best way out of COVID, getting households again on the transfer.

Go to a troop or pack in your neighborhood in the present day. Communities thrive the place scouting thrives.

Regulation enforcement not
homelessness reply

Re. “‘Homelessness’ isn’t about housing,” Letters to the Editor, Web page A6, Sept. 22:

The author of this letter reveals a surprising lack of information and empathy concerning homelessness.

Not all shelters are created equal. Whereas many supply referrals or in-house therapy for habit, not all unhoused persons are drug customers. Many are working individuals who don’t have any everlasting dwelling as a result of circumstances out of their management. Folks I’ve spoken to on the streets state that shelters have been among the most unsafe locations they’ve stayed, citing theft and assault. Whereas there are those that select to reside outdoor, the overwhelming majority of unhoused of us don’t need to reside in unsafe and unsanitary situations.

Regulation enforcement isn’t the reply, we’ve seen how that works. We desperately want extra psychological well being providers and inexpensive housing. I might urge this author to exit on the road and look a few of these of us within the eye. You may’t unsee this struggling.

Parliamentary system
is secure, dependable

Re. “Queen Elizabeth lent dignity to the monarchy,” Letters to the Editor, Web page A6, Sept. 22:

The late Queen Elizabeth II undeniably lent dignity to the monarchy (and the UK) as letter author Ramsingh Asnani so accurately states. Nevertheless, I can’t agree together with his evaluation that the parliamentary system is unstable and “carries the chance of corrupt practices in governance.”
