Early on, I used to be like, I actually wish to inform a Black love story in animated house. That was actually necessary for me as a result of we have now not seen that. I had a duty as a creator and as a Black man. I hope that each one folks can join with the story, it doesn’t matter what race they’re. However I actually hope that Black folks can see themselves in these characters and that this can add to the wave of Black leisure that is already on the market proper now.
I’d at all times sit again and watch Kenya Barris, Jordan Peele, and Issa Rae. And I might suppose, Man, I wish to be part of that. I wish to be spoken about in that group of Black creators.
