Jordan Addison turned a guaranteed interception into the touchdown of the year

Jordan Addison pulled off one of the best touchdowns of the year and bailed the Vikings out in the process by ripping the ball out of Charvarius Ward’s hands and taking it 60 yards to the house.

This incredible touchdown sent the Vikings to the locker room with a halftime lead over the 49ers, and it’s not just the incredible play, but the story behind it all. This should have been Kirk Cousins’ second interception of the half, as well as Ward’s. He picked off Cousins early in the game, and the second one was right in his bread basket on a throw that the quarterback never should have tried.

Instead of giving up on the play, the rookie Addison fought with everything to rip the ball out of the defender’s hands and had nothing but daylight ahead of him. Here’s the incredible touchdown from another angle.

There’s just something in the water when it comes to the Vikings and finding receivers. Everyone pretty much wrote this team off on Monday Night Football after Justin Jefferson was put on IR — but here’s Addison, a rookie, stepping up and bailing his team out. Easily one of the best plays of the year.
