House’s censure of Rashida Tlaib: Letters to the Editor

The Issue: The House’s censure of Rep. Rashida Tlaib due to her comments about the Israel war.

With 22 Democrats joining ranks alongside the righteous cause of the Republican Party, the reprehensible Rep. Rashida Tlaib was held accountable for swirling the age-old cesspool of antisemitism (“House’s historic censure of Tlaib,” Nov. 8).

I applaud every individual member of Congress who took a brave stand against Tlaib. Her censure ignited the flame of hope inside every Jew and patriotic American.

Now, Congress and the country must move from the first step of censuring such despicable demagogues to the ultimate mission of using our free voices to uplift a conservative agenda of absolute American victory.

When people tell you who they are, you should believe them. Tlaib has told us who she is.

“From the river to the sea” is a call for a Palestinian state from the Jordan River to the Mediterranean Sea. This chant leaves no room for a two-state solution. Rather, it demands a Palestinian state at the expense of the Jews.

Such slogans represent the hatred of Jews masquerading as progressivism.

The Nazis had a different way of saying it: “Judenrein,” the exclusion of Jews, or “Judenfrei,” free of Jews.

It’s about time the House voted to censure Tlaib for saying what she said about Israel.

How can someone like Tlaib, who says the things she says, have a seat in one of the most prestigious institutions in our country?

Every member of the House should vote to have her removed. This is the worst form of antagonism by an individual I have ever heard.

In 2021 Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene was stripped of her committee assignments for antisemetic comments she had made in the past. The spineless GOP just gave Tlaib a slap on the wrist. What they should have done, short of expulsion, was take her off assigned committees.

House Speaker Mike Johnson, please grow a pair. Stop appeasing the radical left.

Tlaib claims that the chant “from the river to the sea” is aspirational, as if it’s a version of John Lennon’s “Imagine,” and not a call to wipe Israel off the map.

She deserved to be censured, certainly, but more importantly, she should be voted out of office.

In the wake of the Hamas-Israel war, the Arab Street has now migrated to America’s streets.

The fact that only 22 Democrats voted to censure Tlaib for her to-hell-with-Israel rhetoric plainly indicates there is an ominous presence in the hallways of Congress.

“Never Again” has been shamefully cast aside by the radical Dems in favor of radical chic.

Jewish Americans have been a loyal Democrat voting bloc for years. However, some of the most anti-Israel members of Congress, including Tlaib, are Democrats.

Only 22 Democrats voted to censure Tlaib. Sen. Chuck Schumer, who is Jewish, should be at the forefront of condemning all of the hatred being thrown at Jewish people.

Jewish Americans should consider this the next time they enter a voting booth.

While censure is not strong enough punishment for Tlaib, it’s better than nothing for the time being.

She needs to be expelled from the House and investigated. There is no room for antisemitism in our government.

Nadler refused to censure Tlaib.

Tlaib is a full-throated supporter of barbarism against innocent women, children and the elderly.

Rep. Jerry Nadler, who is Jewish himself, needs to be outed as an apologist for an antisemite.

All of our local representatives who didn’t have the moral clarity to condemn Tlaib’s hate-filled lies need a spotlight on their cowardice.
