Denmark also wants to introduce a flight tax

When introduced in 2025, the average amount is 70 Danish kroner (9 euros), but by 2030 the tax must have risen to an average of 100 kroner (13 euros). This should yield an annual turnover of 160 million euros.

The tax on flights within Europe will be around 8 euros in 2030. The Danes then charge 32 euros in tax on medium-haul flights and long-distance flights to destinations such as Bangkok earn the tax authorities 52 euros.

When announcing the plans, Climate Minister Lars Aagaard pointed to similar levies in several other European countries. Since 2021, the Netherlands has also had a flight tax for all passengers departing from a Dutch airport. That tax rose sharply at the beginning of this year from just under 8 euros to more than 26 euros.
