Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor’s daughter, Raha Bhatt Kapoor, celebrated her first birthday today. Both of her grandmothers – Neetu Kapoor and Soni Razdan, took to social media to convey their birthday wishes. Alia also shared a heartfelt note and images from what seems to be Raha’s birthday celebration. In the first photo, Raha can be seen gleefully smashing her birthday cake, while the second one captures a tender moment with her parents.
Alia’s caption reads, “Our joy, our life.. our light! It feels like just yesterday we were playing this song for you while you were in my tummy kicking away… there’s nothing to say, only that we’re blessed to have you in our lives… you make every day feel like a full, creamy, yummy, delicious piece of cake. Happy birthday baby tiger… we love you more than love itself.”
In a prior conversation with fans, Ranbir had disclosed that Raha’s first birthday would be an intimate affair, featuring a small celebration at home with Raha’s cousins, Taimur Ali Khan and Jeh Ali Khan, along with other family members. He stated, “She is going to turn one year old, and we are going to have a small birthday party for her at home with just family and cousins. So, looking forward to that.”
During a recent event, Alia elucidated the couple’s decision to shield their daughter’s face from public scrutiny. She reiterated that they are proud of their baby but desired to shield her from unwarranted paparazzi attention at such a tender age. She said, “I don’t want it to seem like ‘oh I am hiding my daughter’s face.’ I am proud of her. We are proud of our baby. The intention with which it came out initially was that we are new parents, we don’t know how we feel about her face being splashed all over Instagram. She is barely a year old. We don’t find the need for her to be a moment of paparazzi. She is still too little.”
