Alan Arkin, Oscar-Winning Actor From ‘Little Miss Sunshine,’ Dead At 89


Alan Arkin, the Oscar-winning actor from “Little Miss Sunshine,” has died. He was 89.

“Our father was a uniquely proficient power of nature, each as an artist and a person,” sons Adam, Matthew and Anthony confirmed to Folks in a press release Friday. “A loving husband, father, grand and nice grandfather, he was adored and might be deeply missed.”

Arkin obtained his first Oscar nod in 1967 for the lead function in “The Russians Are Coming, The Russians Are Coming.” He was nominated for Finest Actor in 1969 for “The Coronary heart Is a Lonely Hunter,” and received the Finest Supporting Actor trophy for “Sunshine” in 2006.

He was nominated in the identical class for “Argo” in 2013.
