Grownup albatrosses on a distant island are being attacked and eaten by an aggressive invasive species — mice.

Invasive mice have been wreaking havoc on the ecosystem of Marion Island — situated about midway between South Africa and Antarctica — for many years, chowing down on native invertebrates and the chicks of many seabirds that breed there. However the newest discovery is the primary time they have been documented attacking grownup albatrosses on the island.
