Earthquakes could cause cracks that propagate shortly

Skinny strips of a clear gel have been discovered to crack impossibly shortly.

“What we discovered was a complete shock. This simply isn’t purported to occur,” says Jay Fineberg on the Hebrew College of Jerusalem in Israel who led the group that noticed the record-breaking cracks. The discovering may enhance our understanding of some earthquakes and the way brittle supplies break.
