Ron DeSantis wants to make America Florida. No thank you

To the editor: Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is now formally a Republican presidential candidate. I perceive that he desires to make America like Florida.

Effectively, Gov. DeSantis, I say no thanks.

I don’t wish to stay in an America that bans books. I don’t wish to stay in an America that takes rights away from anybody, together with girls, LGBTQ+ folks and ethnic minorities. I don’t wish to stay in an America that calls out profitable companies that talk up about cultural points.

You may maintain your anger and vindictiveness in Florida. You may as well maintain your bugs and humidity.

To the editor: I feel the easiest way to find out if Gov. Gavin Newsom or DeSantis can be a greater president is to have them swap states for a time.

Let DeSantis govern right here in California, the place Democrats maintain a super-majority, and Newsom can do the identical in Florida with Republicans in energy. The “winner” can be the one who may get probably the most significant laws handed throughout that point.

That’s what it means to be a pacesetter. These two are efficient of their respective states solely as a result of they belong to the bulk social gathering in cost. Anybody may govern with that setup.
