Both directors celebrated the start of the BoekStart program. And that also during the National Reading Days!Book start

BoekStart is a national program in which the Library and SKH have joined forces to stimulate language promotion and reading pleasure even more. ‘BoekStart’ aims to bring children and pedagogical staff to their parents and pedagogical staff intensively with books and reading them.

In collaboration with SKH, a stimulating reading environment is made for children. All children become a free member of the library and the two locations from now on have a well -stocked bookcase with beautiful picture books, reading books and viewing books.

Read aloud and language promotion
These two locations work with the youngest children every day with reading aloud and language promotion. They are at the basis of the development of children. In the coming weeks, the library will train the employees in interactive reading and by making a reading plan. They are supported in this by a reading consultant from the library that also offers and reads in the group. By realizing these facilities, reading aloud and reading promotion are given a permanent place within the playgroups.

Connect with primary school
Within the De Schakel primary school where both play rooms are housed, the library at school (forest) is used. This is also an intensive cooperation between library and primary school to promote reading. This creates a nice continuous line from pre -school to primary school.
