At Computex 2024, MSI is announcing multiple motherboards for the AMD X870 chipset that are compatible with the upcoming Ryzen 9000 series CPUs. Boards for the current Z790 chipset are also coming. The manufacturer is not yet announcing prices or release dates.
The upcoming X870 WiFi variants, including the Tomahawk and the Pro X870-P, support the Wi-Fi 7 standard and 5Gbit/s Ethernet. In all cases there is at least one PCIe Gen5 x4 slot for an M.2 SSD. The motherboards support DDR5 memory and Ryzen 7000, 8000 and 9000 processors.
MSI is releasing fewer details about the upcoming Intel motherboards with the Z790 chipset. An unknown WiFi model supports 2.5Gbit/s Ethernet and Wi-Fi 6E. The company is also working with Intel on memory technology that should ensure lower latency. MSI still uses the placeholder name Mini_Cudimm for this.
