Skinny materials that block mosquito bites have been developed by experimenting with patterns made by knitting machines.

John Beckmann at Auburn College in Alabama got down to create bite-proof clothes after clothes he purchased for a canoeing journey failed to guard him. “I bought eaten alive,” he says.
