With nice disappointment, I relay that James L. Buckley handed away on the age of 100. I wrote about Choose Buckley in March on his one centesimal birthday:
On Thursday, James L. Buckley turns 100 years previous. Most regulation college students will know his title from the seminal case of Buckley v. Valeo. However he did a lot extra. He served as a lieutenant within the Navy. He was elected as New York Senator on the conservative occasion ticket. President Reagan appointed Buckley as undersecretary of state for worldwide safety. And Reagan latter tapped Buckley as a choose on the D.C. Circuit Court docket of Appeals. He is without doubt one of the most exceptional public servants of the twentieth century. (I might add Choose Silberman to that record.)
I had the honor of assembly Choose Buckley at Justice Thomas’s Story Lecture in 2021.I do not get star-stuck simply, however I received star-struck once I shook Choose Buckley’s hand.
