The decision to stop using paper was taken last year because an increasing number of subscribers opted for the digital version. Moreover, the lead time from delivery to the printer to delivery became longer and longer, and the costs continued to rise.
But some readers appear to be very attached to the paper version. That is why, over the past two months, we have investigated whether, with some adjustments, it is possible to produce a print version profitably again, without having to increase prices too much.
The magazine was released in print again as a trial in the months of March and May. Based on the results, Reismedia has decided to structurally offer a paper edition again in the Netherlands. From now on, print subscribers will only receive the issue one week after the digital version.
Existing subscribers
Existing digital subscribers can now easily get the paper edition again by purchasing a Print Only subscription in addition to their current subscription. This costs 70 euros per year and can be arranged easily and within a few minutes via this pagea. They do not have to change or cancel their current subscription.
Subscribers who do not need the paper edition will simply keep their digital subscription. Nothing else will change for them.
New subscribers
New subscribers can now subscribe a temporary promotional rate of 105 euros purchase a digital + print subscription. That means a discount of 15 percent in the first year. They then pay the regular rate.
Anyone who takes out a subscription to the paper edition this week will receive the magazine on their doorstep for the first time in June.
