Alphabet is reportedly planning to acquire cybersecurity company Wiz, The Wall Street Journal reports. The two companies are reportedly currently in talks, and Google’s parent company is reportedly willing to pay $23 billion for the company.
Volgens The Wall Street Journal the deal between the two companies could follow soon. It is not clear whether a deadline has been set. If the deal goes through for the intended amount, it will be the largest acquisition Alphabet has ever made.
Wiz was founded in 2020. The company offers cybersecurity software for cloud computing and managed to raise another billion dollars in investments in 2023. The company was then attributed a market value of twelve billion dollars according to The Wall Street Journal. The parent company of Google would want to further expand its cybersecurity division with this acquisition. In 2022 Alphabet also acquired cybersecurity company Mandiant for an amount of 5.4 billion dollars.
