Passengers are generally positive about the Airbus A220 cabin, thanks to the wide seats in 2-3 configuration, large windows and spacious luggage bins. But AirBaltic customers sometimes complained that they found the seats a bit on the hard side.
The new Recaro R2 seats selected by AirBaltic should be more comfortable. They have “an improved” cushion in the seat and backrest for better support.
The Recaro R2s. They will still have the AirBaltic cabin style, with gray and white as colors.
Ten years old
AirBaltic’s first A220-300s will already be ten years old in 2026, so that is a good time to renew the cabin. The Latvian airline, which flies from Schiphol to Riga, Tallinn, Vilnius and Palanga, says that there will also be USB C ports.
The seats will have a pitch (legroom) of 30 inches. AirBaltic announced a few years ago that the entire fleet would receive this legroom. Currently, part of the Airbus A220 fleet has 30 inches and part 32 inches.
