AAWireless has announced that it will launch the AAWireless Two dongle on October 20. With the second generation, the dongle for wireless Android Auto has become slightly smaller.
The AAWireless dongle is possibly the most popular solution for adding wireless Android Auto functionality to your car. This means you don’t have to connect your smartphone every time you want to use Android Auto. The dongle takes care of that the wireless signal between your car’s operating system and your smartphone. Three years after the launch of the first AAWireless dongle in 2021, the developers are now launching the AAWireless Two.

Functionally, the Two is almost identical to the first generation, with support for Android Auto Wireless. To do this, connect a cable to the car at one end and connect the Android phone wirelessly to the dongle. However, a multi-function button has been added that allows you to enable pairing mode, switch between devices, put the dongle in standby and more. You can also customize the button’s functions via the included AAWireless app.
What’s missing from the AAWireless Two is support for Apple CarPlay, and that will remain the case, the developers say. However, they promise that a Two Plus variant will eventually appear that can handle both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The launch of that adapter is planned for the first quarter of 2025.
However, the biggest change, according to the developers, is in the size of the AAWireless dongle. According to them, the volume of the dongle has decreased by 30%. Depending on where the dongle should be connected in your car, the Two will be less noticeable. At the same time, there is still a colored ring around the multifunction button, so it will not completely disappear into the interior.
Available from October 20
The Dutch developer says that the AAWireless Two dongle from October 20 will be available. European prices vary between 59.99 and 67.99 euros, and you can get it from Amazon and bol.com, among others. Compared to the current AAWireless dongle, the second generation has become 5 euros more expensive.
